Our environmental testing laboratories are located throughout the city and offer a variety of services to home and business owners, industrial businesses, and government regulatory agencies. Environmental Monitoring includes testing for chemical contaminants, radon, asbestos, lead, pH, turbidity, air quality, and VOCs. We also perform pH testing and comprehensive chemical analysis for our clients. Our staff is available seven days a week to respond to your office needs.

Benchmark Tester Program The benchmark tester program is a joint venture between San Jose Environmental Testing and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control. The program was established in 2021 and has been tested and found to be effective in reducing the waste, hazards, and waste disposal associated with environmental testing. It has been found to be effective in reducing the amount of waste that is generated during laboratory testing. Due to its proven track record and popularity, the program has been expanded to include the entire state of California. The program is managed by the San Jose Environmental Monitoring Branch of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.

Contamination Reduction Benchmark environmental testing uses continuous laboratory testing as well as comprehensive hazard analysis to ensure that all toxic materials are detected and removed from the environment. In addition to testing laboratories, San Jose’s environmental services staff performs inspections and uses a wide range of collection methods to collect samples for analysis. This allows the testing team to make informed decisions about the removal of waste and contamination from the working environment. Hazard analysis and the containment of hazardous materials are only one component of San Jose’s comprehensive waste removal and containment programs. San Jose’s comprehensive waste and contamination reduction programs encompass an integrated whole-works approach that addresses waste disposal, environmental quality management, removal and transport, recycling and other environmental improvement functions.

Asbestos Disposal Asbestos materials testing is performed by the San Jose asbestos abatement program. This service has consistently been recognized by the California Department of Health Services as one of the most effective ways to dispose of the risk of asbestos exposure. Asbestos is one of the most commonly found asbestos disorders in the country. The health of individuals living or working in the areas where asbestos is present is the greatest risk for these diseases. If these fibers are inhaled, ingested, or otherwise come in contact with the body, the individual may develop mesothelioma, a deadly form of lung cancer.

Hazardous Waste Testing San Jose environmental agencies and hazardous waste testing companies work in partnership to address all forms of hazardous waste around the county. These include industrial and commercial materials as well as domestic waste. The San Jose Police Department’s Solid Waste Management Program (WPMP) was established to manage and contain locally the large variety of toxic materials that result from a number of different sources. By partnering with these agencies, San Jose seeks to support their efforts by ensuring they comply with all county and state laws regulating waste management. San Jose offers a comprehensive system to meet all of its recycling and disposal needs while protecting the environment. WPMP offers highly trained and equipped technicians who work closely with these agencies to ensure their clients meet all legal requirements pertaining to the handling of hazardous waste material.
