The main activities under this project aims at identifying the key processes and activities required for the realization of energy efficiency in buildings. This includes the analysis of current electricity usage and its impact on future generation. The analysis can determine the extent of potential degradation of the existing infrastructure and provide recommendations on how to maintain current efficiency levels. The main activities include the implementation of improved insulation, reduced use of electronic equipment in the process of electricity generation, efficient design of wiring, and reduction of combustion by using clean fuels. Improvements in the insulation also make a significant contribution towards the overall achievement of the project.
Other areas of improvement that come into focus with the implementation of this program are the lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Many municipalities have already started with the implementation of the Meep program. However, some municipalities have not yet started with the Meep program. These municipalities should start with the main objective of reducing the annual demand for electricity in buildings. They should take initiatives to implement measures to address the growing demand of electricity by utilizing solar energy, wind energy, geothermal heat sources, and other alternative resources.
